Appeal for Witnesses: Man Stabbed in Attempted Robbery

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward following a stabbing incident during an attempted robbery in Plaistow.

On Wednesday, December 20th, around 6:25 pm, a man in his twenties faced a terrifying encounter on Western Road, E13. Three men approached him, demanding his phone. Luckily, he managed to escape their grasp momentarily but was eventually caught at the junction of Queens Road and Rochester Avenue.

The situation turned violent as the assailants attacked him, inflicting five stab wounds. The victim, in a desperate state, made his way to Green Street, E13, where he collapsed. Quick to respond, officers and the London Ambulance Service arrived promptly, providing crucial first aid before rushing him to the hospital. Fortunately, he has been discharged after receiving treatment.

Detective Constable Oliver Beech, heading the investigation, urged anyone who witnessed the incident or might have dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward. He highlighted the seriousness of the attack, emphasising that the three suspects were spotted loitering in Western Avenue for about half an hour before the assault. He appealed for any sightings of the suspects fleeing towards Queens Market around 6:30 pm.
