BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent openly expressed her thoughts after her colleague Ben Thompson jokingly proposed an early morning drink.

The 52-year-old returned to the familiar red sofa with Ben to deliver the latest news from the UK and around the world. Amidst their news delivery, they humorously acknowledged their confusion about the day due to the Christmas week.

Ben quipped that during the period between Christmas and New Year, “anything goes,” suggesting, “It’s the week where anything goes. If you want a glass of wine at 11 am, you can!”

Sally responded cheerfully, saying, “Go on then!” Ben playfully suggested Sally could indulge in an alcoholic drink at twenty minutes to eight, but this time, Sally felt it might be a tad too early for that.

“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my incredible friends who overcame car breakdowns, cancelled trains, and early work shifts just to be present in the room. And to all those cheering from home, your support was truly felt.”

“A special thank you to @rob7lindsey for the last-minute words of encouragement that gave me the courage I needed. I’m elated to retire my dancing shoes now. Getting a perfect 10 from Shirley – it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Meanwhile, Graziano, who danced alongside Love Island star Zara McDermott in this year’s competition, also spoke highly of Sally. In an interview with the BBC, he expressed, “You’ve been incredible. For the first time in my career, I’ve encountered someone who has truly made me appreciate the privilege of my job and the joy of dancing.”

“It’s beyond just the steps. It’s about cultivating a friendship foremost, offering something for audiences to relish, embracing the dance, and the festive spirit.”
