A 41-year-old woman, Keziah Macharia, has been accused of fatally stabbing her four-year-old son, Kobi Dooley-Macharia, in east London, as reported by the Metropolitan Police. The incident occurred at their terraced residence in Hackney, where the young boy was discovered with multiple knife wounds.

Despite being rushed to the hospital for treatment, the child succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night. His relatives have been notified and are receiving support from trained personnel.

A 36-year-old mother-of-three, residing next door to the property where the boy lived, shared her memories of the cheerful child, recalling his playful nature and fondness for outdoor activities with his parents. She expressed shock at the distressing events, mentioning the commotion when the police arrived.

Expressing deep sadness, she added, “Even the officers were visibly upset; it was difficult for them to remain composed when they saw us. I can’t bring myself to tell my own son. He’s too young. I’ll have to say they moved away.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that family members of the deceased boy are being supported by dedicated officers. Mayor Caroline Woodley of Hackney expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy and assured efforts to provide support to the family, friends, and the wider community in collaboration with the police and the child’s school.

Keziah Macharia, residing on Montague Road, is scheduled to appear in Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 22nd December, while in custody.
