The star of Zoolander, Ben Stiller, has landed a significant role in the upcoming movie Nutcrackers, marking his first leading role in six years.

Penned by Leland Douglas and helmed by director David Gordon Green, Nutcrackers chronicles the journey of Mike (portrayed by Stiller) as he heads to Ohio to take care of his four nephews following their parents’ tragic demise in a car accident.

As reported by Deadline, what initially seemed like a brief trip to secure foster care stretches into weeks filled with chaos on a farm – eventually leading to the realization that he doesn’t need to find them a new home; they’ve already found one with him.

Stiller has also committed to producing Nutcrackers under his Red Hour Films banner while the movie is currently in production in Ohio.

His previous lead roles were in Brad’s Status and The Meyerowitz Stories, both released in 2017. Since then, he has focused on directing and executive producing TV shows such as Severance and Escape at Dannemora.

From 2017 onwards, Stiller has taken on minor roles in movies like Bros, Locked Down, and Hubie Halloween.

Additionally, Nutcrackers represents a departure for Green, who, in recent years, has been involved in revitalizing established horror franchises. His directorial credits include three new Halloween films and The Exorcist: Believer spanning from 2018 to 2023.
