Michael Owen’s Attempt on “Deal Or No Deal” Takes an Unexpected Turn for Charity

The renowned sports figure, aged 44, took a chance against the Banker in the celebrity special of the classic ITV game show on Sunday (December 17), hosted by Stephen Mulhern, all in support of raising funds for Fight For Sight. Present in the studio were a mix of his friends, family, including Love Island star daughter Gemma Owen, and several familiar faces.

Despite only uncovering one blue box, Michael still had £100,000 in play. Following the initial round, the Banker proposed £1,200 to Michael, an offer he declined. However, some viewers labelled his performance in the round as “horrendous.”

However, numerous fans wished for a lengthier run. One viewer lamented on X, ‘I’m utterly disappointed that it’s concluded for now. I genuinely believed it would continue longer. I’ve truly cherished the comeback of such an iconic show.’

Another viewer remarked, ‘Hopefully, there will be another series soon. It felt like it lasted an eternity when it aired on Channel 4, but I understand that was a different era.’ The recent revival of the show spanned 20 episodes across four weeks. There hasn’t been an announcement yet regarding a second series… but we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
