Gordon Ramsay didn’t hold back when he visited one of Jersey Shore’s renowned spots for Kitchen Nightmares. Making his way to Max’s Bar and Grill in Long Branch, owned by Jennifer Maybaum, the top chef encountered a complex dynamic involving Jennifer, her ex-husband Jake, and his girlfriend MK. Taking charge of the establishment after her father Bobby’s passing in 2013, Jennifer aimed to keep the legacy alive, yet Gordon’s initial impressions were far from favourable.

He wasn’t shy about his distaste, notably spitting out the first bite of the bar’s signature hot dog, the Barney, labelling it “unappetising”. His critique extended to the Chicago hot dog, with similar disdain. Even the mac and cheese bites fell short, lacking the essence of mac and cheese, disappointing Gordon. The nachos didn’t escape his scrutiny either, condemned for the absence of seasoning and improperly melted cheese.

As tensions escalated among the staff, Gordon addressed the fraught atmosphere, highlighting the business’s descent into chaos and expressing dismay at the lack of teamwork. The situation reached a boiling point, resulting in Jennifer and MK locking horns.

In summary, Gordon Ramsay’s visit revealed a series of culinary and managerial issues, casting a shadow over the longstanding history of Max’s Bar and Grill.

Fortunately, Gordon didn’t abandon the restaurant as a lost cause; instead, he diligently revamped the menu in preparation for a grand reopening. Teaming up with his former Hell’s Kitchen colleague, Chef James Avery, Ramsay pledged to return for the restaurant’s 100th anniversary provided it continues its positive trajectory.

This development comes merely a month after Ramsay joyfully welcomed his sixth child with his wife, Tana, and expressed that he now considers his family complete. They named their newborn son Jesse James.

In a heartwarming social media message, he wrote: “What an incredible birthday gift! Please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, weighing in at 7lbs 10oz! Another addition to the Ramsay clan! 3 boys, 3 girls… Complete.”

Tana expressed her joy, saying, ‘The past nine months have been quite nerve-wracking, but we’ve successfully navigated it, and we feel incredibly blessed with this new addition. The Ramsay family feels truly complete with Jesse James Ramsay joining us. We adore you so much.’

Gordon, 57, now welcomes Jesse alongside daughters Megan, 25, Holly, 23, Tilly, 22, and sons Jack, 23, and Oscar, four, with his wife Tana, who gave birth at 49. Reflecting on being an older parent, Gordon shared on the Dish podcast, ‘I’m going to be the oldest parent in school. I’ll probably be asked, ‘Who’s your grandad?’ And when it comes to events like sports day or the egg and spoon race, I wonder, what am I going to do?

“I’ll be attending the school sports day using a walker! Can’t say how many knee or hip replacements I’ll clock by 21, but I’m game to find out,” he quipped.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he described the experience as “truly remarkable, just fortunate,” and humorously added, “I’m pretty certain I’ll be the eldest dad doing the school drop-off, so I’ll stick to my cap and shades.”
