In the era of social media, scammers have adopted innovative strategies to identify potential targets.

Crafting counterfeit Instagram profiles impersonating celebrities, ranging from actors to sports icons, stands out as a primary method scammers employ to infiltrate individuals’ direct messages.

A case emerged where a man engaged in a ‘loyalty test’ was exposed for communicating with a fraudulent account posing as WWE superstar Liv Morgan, despite being married for eight years.

When the man’s wife insisted on inspecting each other’s phones, she stumbled upon his exchanges with the phoney account. He attempted to brush it off by suggesting he “probably didn’t respond” due to finding the account’s queries about his relationship status “daft.”

But his wife swiftly countered, stating, “Yes, you did!” Her skepticism towards his explanation was evident. Declining further scrutiny of his phone, she remarked, “No, because there’ll likely be more undesirable content on there.”

Following this, the genuine Liv Morgan has reacted, sharing the clip on X (previously Twitter) with a simple “You all” and a sorrowful emoji.

Your name being dragged into a situation you’ve got no part in,” remarked an individual on the platform. Morgan expressed her remorse, stating, “I feel awful, mate.”

Supportive fans promptly reached out, reassuring Morgan that the situation was not her responsibility. One person commented, “You can’t influence the actions of others out there. That individual chose to deceive others by pretending to be you. That’s their responsibility, not yours. It’s regrettable that people resort to such behaviour. It’s very unfortunate.
