Police Initiate Murder Inquiry in Hull Following Fatal House Fire

An inquiry into a homicide has been initiated following the demise of a man in a residential fire.

The 54-year-old was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries subsequent to the fire at Terry Street in Hull, occurring around 8:40 pm on Wednesday, 29th November.

Regrettably, he passed away two days later.

Authorities have initiated a murder investigation and have shared CCTV footage of an individual they wish to interview regarding the incident.

Detective Superintendent Al Curtis stated, “Since the fire occurred on Wednesday evening, my team of detectives has been actively pursuing various leads, conducting thorough investigations including door-to-door inquiries, liaising with the fire service, and analysing CCTV footage.”

He added, “I recognise that such an incident can instigate apprehension within the community. Nevertheless, I would like to offer assurance to residents that we currently perceive this to be an isolated occurrence.”
