The annual celebrity skating extravaganza is poised to make its return to ITV in January, with the 12 participating celebrities already unveiled.

Following Phillip Schofield’s departure from ITV earlier this year, the show found itself in need of a new co-host alongside Willoughby. However, Willoughby’s own future was clouded after she left This Morning following a serious kidnap-and-murder threat.

While Stephen Mulhern has been in discussions for a presenting role on the show for some time, The Sun reports that with the launch just weeks away, neither Mulhern nor Willoughby has formally committed.

A source disclosed to the newspaper, “The producers of Dancing On Ice are somewhat stuck until they resolve who will be steering the ship upon the show’s return. Even though the usual start is mid-January, they’re now operating on a timeline measured in weeks, not months.”

“It’s a precarious situation with the entire crew and a roster of celebrities already gearing up for the first show, yet no confirmed presenters.”

The 2024 lineup includes notable figures such as Olympic champion Greg Rutherford, Made In Chelsea’s Miles Nazaire, actress Claire Sweeney, and S Club 7’s Hannah Spearritt.
