Reality TV personality Brandi Mallory passes away at the age of 40

Brandi Mallory, renowned for her role in the fourth season of Extreme Weight Loss, has passed away at the age of 40.

The exact cause of Mallory’s death remains undisclosed.

During her appearance on the show, Mallory disclosed that her heaviest weight was 329 lbs, and she remarkably completed a Half Ironman. This demanding challenge involved biking, running, and swimming for a total of 70.3 miles, and Mallory completed it in under eight hours.

A representative from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to People magazine this week that Mallory passed away on November 9 in Georgia.

Reflecting on her decision to join Extreme Weight Loss in 2018, Mallory, a makeup artist, shared with journalist Kirby Carroll on her YouTube channel: ‘I was waking up every day thinking… this might be my last day waking up; I don’t know what’s going to happen for me.’

“When the thought of addressing my weight crosses my mind, considering the potential impact on my health and fear of mortality, it becomes imperative to take notice of such concerns.”

She continued, “Every step I’ve taken since then has felt guided by a higher force. I fervently prayed over my application before submitting it, seeking divine guidance at every stage of the process.”

Following her appearance on the widely-watched ABC show, Mallory remained committed to maintaining her fitness through dance, dutifully sharing her wellness journey with her social media followers.

Mallory’s latest update on Instagram dates back to November 3. However, on November 12, she was remembered and celebrated by close friends and family at a memorial service.

Kim Williams Maxile, a participant in season five of Extreme Weight Loss, was among those offering heartfelt tributes to Mallory. Taking to social media, she wrote, ‘Rest in Love, sis. You will be missed. I’ll never forget that during my time at boot camp for season 5, we watched your season, and it inspired us to persevere. Your vibrant spirit and dedication to body positivity truly left a lasting impact on the world. I feel blessed to have shared this world with you.’
