Massive Attack’s guitarist, Angelo Bruschini, has passed away mere months after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

The band conveyed this sad news on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating: “A uniquely brilliant and unconventional talent.

“It’s impossible to measure your impact on the Massive Attack repertoire. How fortunate we were to have shared such a journey together.”

His spouse, Jessica, also turned to social media to offer her tribute.

She penned, “It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my exquisite husband, Angelo Bruschini, on the 23rd of October, 2023, at 12.15 am. It was due to a rare and aggressive form of cancer.”

Angelo Bruschini hailed from Bristol and became a part of the ensemble in the 1990s, shortly after its establishment in 1988.

He disclosed his diagnosis in July, remarking, “I have led a remarkable life, traversed the globe on numerous occasions, encountered numerous extraordinary individuals, but now, the curtain is drawing to a close. I believe it is time to pen a tome.”

Massive Attack is renowned for pioneering the ‘trip hop’ genre. Presently, the ensemble comprises Robert “3D” Del Naja, Adrian “Tricky” Thaws, and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall.
