Slade frontman Noddy Holder has been battling throat cancer since 2017.

This distressing revelation was shared by Holder’s wife, Suzan, in their local newspaper. The 77-year-old Merry Xmas Everybody icon continues to undergo life-extending chemotherapy.

“Five years ago, we received the devastating news of his oesophageal cancer diagnosis, with a prognosis of just six months,” she recounted.

“I understand if this comes as a shock; it blindsided us as well. We faced it head-on, pulling together and doing everything in our power to combat it.

“We chose to confide in only our closest family and friends. To those we didn’t share this with, I offer no apologies, only to those who were inadvertently burdened with our pain and suffering as we grappled with this new, harrowing reality. They stood by us, offering unwavering support and maintaining our trust. We discovered who our true friends are.”
