A mother, who was pushing her 13-month-old daughter in a pram, has suffered life-altering injuries after a collision with a BMW travelling in the wrong direction in Hounslow.

Rajdeep Kaur was catapulted several feet into the air when the BMW, overtaking traffic in the incorrect lane, struck her. Fortunately, the pram narrowly escaped being hit during the hit-and-run incident on North Hyde Lane on February 3.

The driver of the BMW X5, which bore cloned plates, callously fled the scene, leaving the pram in the road and Ms. Kaur fighting for her life.

On Tuesday, Crimestoppers announced a £5,000 reward in the pursuit of the driver. Detectives revealed that the 37-year-old mother, regrettably, will never fully recover from her injuries.

She endured several months in hospital with severe leg and pelvis injuries and now faces significant limitations in her mobility.

Detective Constable Davina Nash from the Metropolitan Police described this case as “extremely distressing”. She emphasized that it was sheer luck that Ms. Kaur’s daughter escaped unharmed.

“Crimestoppers, an independent organisation separate from the police, is now offering a reward for any information. We are optimistic that this incentive will prompt someone to step forward,” DC Nash stated.

“We believe the BMW driver is likely from the local Hounslow area, so there’s a good chance that someone recognises them.

“If you possess any details about the driver or any other pertinent information that could lead to justice for the victim, the charity Crimestoppers assures complete anonymity for your report.”

Alexa Loukas, the London Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, remarked that Ms Kaur’s life has been irreversibly altered by her injuries.

“If you have any knowledge regarding the vehicle or the driver involved, even if you’ve hesitated to come forward so far, we’re making a direct appeal to the community in Hounslow,” said Ms. Loukas.

“It’s important to understand that if you possess any information about this tragic incident, you can confide in our charity. There’s a common misconception that we’re affiliated with the police. However, we operate independently and will never pass judgment or request any of your personal details.

“The information you provide could contribute to finding some form of justice for Mrs. Kaur and her family, ultimately leading to safer streets for all.”

To be eligible for the reward or to ensure your anonymity, please reach out to Crimestoppers discreetly through their website or call 0800 555 111.
