Police are currently in search of a woman following a violent attack on a bus in Shepherd’s Bush, leaving a 13-year-old girl in need of hospital treatment.

The incident occurred on the route 283 bus near Shepherd’s Bush Green at approximately 7:30pm on August 1. The victim proceeded to a seat towards the back of the bus.

The suspect, described as a woman in her late teens or early 20s, obstructed the aisle and refused to yield, according to authorities. Subsequently, she seized the girl’s drink, dousing her with it, and initiated an “unprovoked” assault characterized by its “excessive violence.”

A man who attempted to intervene was also subjected to an assault.

The bus came to a halt outside the Bush Theatre on Uxbridge Road, allowing the suspect to disembark, leaving the victim on the floor. The girl was transported to the hospital and later discharged.

PC Tom Jasper of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command stated, “This was an unprovoked assault which resulted in excessive violence being used against a young girl. We have issued an image of the woman we want to identify – if you recognise this person, or have any information about this incident, then please get in contact immediately.”

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 or contact ‘X’ @MetCC, quoting CAD6796/1Aug. Alternatively, details can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
