In London, Luton Airport has announced a complete suspension of all flights and urged passengers to refrain from journeying there due to a “significant fire” in a parking facility, resulting in partial structural collapse. “Our paramount concern is the safety of both our passengers and staff. Consequently, we have made the decision to halt all flight operations until 12pm on Wednesday, 11th October,” stated the airport.

“Passengers are strongly advised against traveling to the airport at this juncture, given that access is currently severely restricted,” an additional advisory emphasized.

The Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that its team is actively engaged in quelling the blaze and preventing its spread to adjacent edifices and vehicles within the airport premises.

“As much as fifty percent of the structure is engulfed in flames, and the edifice has sustained substantial structural compromise,” was conveyed on X, previously known as Twitter.

“Residents in the vicinity are urged to shut windows and doors and steer clear of the area.”
