Renowned British television personality, Holly Willoughby, announced her resignation from the presenting role on ITV’s prominent daytime show, “This Morning.” This decision comes in the wake of a recent incident where a man was apprehended in connection with an alleged conspiracy to abduct and harm her.

Willoughby, absent from the screen since Thursday due to the security incident, conveyed on Instagram her departure after a remarkable 14-year tenure hosting “This Morning.” The program, renowned for its blend of celebrity interviews, entertainment updates, and discussions on current affairs, has been graced by Willoughby’s presence.

The 42-year-old disclosed, “I have informed ITV today that after 14 years, I will not be resuming my role on This Morning. Regrettably, I now find it imperative to make this choice for the sake of myself and my family.”

ITV, a leading commercial broadcaster, commended Willoughby and expressed eagerness to collaborate with her in the future. Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of Media and Entertainment at ITV, lauded her for infusing the show with her distinct warmth, vitality, wit, and enjoyment, which endeared her to the show’s wide audience.

This development follows last Friday’s revelation of Gavin Plumb’s arrest. Plumb, a 36-year-old security officer stationed at a shopping centre, was detained in connection with the purported scheme. His case is scheduled for a plea hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, situated approximately 40 miles (65 kilometers) to the east of London, on November 3.

“This Morning” has navigated through a challenging year. Earlier, Holly Willoughby’s co-host, Phillip Schofield, departed from the show after acknowledging a romantic involvement with a younger former colleague.
