3 Teenagers Dead, 2 Others Critically Injured in Audi-Bus Collision

All individuals involved in the tragic head-on collision, which occurred in South Wales around 7 pm yesterday (11th December), were aged between 18 and 19. They are presumed to be residents of the local area.

Three teenagers have tragically lost their lives, and two others are in critical condition following a severe head-on collision between a bus and an Audi A1.

Last night’s incident in Coedely, near Tonyrefail, South Wales, resulted in five individuals being swiftly taken to the hospital.

Police have confirmed that three young men, one aged 19 and the other two aged 18, succumbed to the collision. Additionally, two other individuals, aged 18 and 19, are currently hospitalised with life-threatening injuries.

In a statement released this morning, the police stated: ‘Emergency services were summoned to the distressing scene of a serious road traffic collision involving a bus and an Audi A1 on Ely Valley Road, Coedely, around 7 pm last night, Monday 11th December.

“Three men, two aged 18 and one aged 19, were pronounced deceased at the site. Additionally, two other men, both aged 18 and 19, were transported to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff due to critical injuries.

“Furthermore, two additional individuals received treatment for minor injuries. The road has been closed as investigations into the collision persist.”

The ambulance service verified that this tragic incident was a result of a head-on collision.

“The road close to a caravan park remained shut this morning as authorities carried on with their investigation at the scene.

MP Alex Davies-Jones shared on Facebook, ‘Heartbreaking news emerging from our community today. My deepest sympathies go out to the families and loved ones impacted by this tragic incident.’

Local councillor Danny Grehan informed the BBC that his understanding was that the victims were local young men. He expressed, ‘This will deeply impact the area.'”

Supt Esyr Jones from South Wales Police expressed, ‘Our sympathies go out to all those impacted by this distressing incident. Specially trained family liaison officers are providing support to the affected families during this undoubtedly challenging period for them.’
